Unfortunately, Owen's arrival hasn't exactly brought good luck to our favorite sports teams ... he was born on the day Penn State lost to rival Michigan, on his 7th day Penn State lost yet again, and now the Ravens get creamed by the perennial cellar-dweller Cleveland Browns. I think we're gonna start calling him "the cooler" after the William H. Macy character (from the movie of the same name) whose presence would "cool off" patrons in casinos that were winning too much because of the bad luck that always surrounded him (incidentally, great movie).
Things are otherwise going great. We just got Owen weighed today and he's already up to 8 lbs 7 oz, which I think is a sign he's gonna be a big one, since newborns aren't necessarily expected to get back up to birth weight until 2 weeks. He also has gained 1/4 an inch since birth and is now 21 1/2 inches.
